The Kaizen Adaptive Trainer Course provides an introductory education on working with Adaptive Athletes. You will learn how to help these athletes improve their fitness and health using functional fitness and earn the certificate necessary to work as an Adaptive Strength and Conditioning Coach. Participants include visible wounds such as; Wounded Warriors, Veterans, First Responders, Law Enforcment Officers, Stroke Survivors, Spinal Cord Injuries and Invisible Wounds such as; Traumatic Brain Injuries and PTSD. COURSE OBJECTIVES: • In this course adaptive athletes, coaches, trainers, healthcare professionals, and gym owners will be trained on functional fitness methodologies as follows: • Bridge the gap between healthcare and fitness for Adaptive Athletes. • What is functional fitness and how it aids activities of daily living. • What is an Adaptive Athlete? • Educate and empower individuals on the importance of inclusion. • Understand what long-term physical or traumatic impairments are and how to adapt for these individuals safely and effectively. • Attendees will develop the skills needed to assess an injured athlete. • Attendees will learn about the most common adaptive equipment/modalities used. • Gain a basic understanding of recovery techniques used.
